no suggestions for a digicam... i do not like digital cameras.. if you want to learn how to take good fotos.. then use a film based camera... it makes u think before u take the foto unlike the digicams where you think about the foto after you have taken it...
anyway... if you are keen to go for a digicam.. then fix ur budget... find out prices from JJMEHTA.com and then read about the cameras on dpreview.com
once you freeze on what you want.. either get it from firangland... or if from india.. get it from jjmehta only or from chandni chawk in delhi...

haan cost is a factor.. i got my slr for 11500.. which is a price good enough to buy a very very decent 4 mp digicam...
i am in love with my film based slr.. in a few years.. i might move upto a digital.. but then it would be a digital SLR only.. and that too canon !!!
till then all the investment only on lenses !!!!
