It’s very rare that one could find a sleeping one, usually these birds would sense human or predator's presence. Just after another 2 seconds of taking this shot, the bird was airborne :)

I don't think the pigeons have a very keen senses. Actually I think they are quite stupid that is why I see so many of them killed by cats. The smart bird is a crow. Haw many times have you seen a dead crow?

I think you are right, havn't seen any crow in such a sight.
However, i like pegions. they maybe stupid but still are cute unlike the crow's :)
